Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know which program is right for me?
During your complimentary discovery call, we’ll review your goals and health history to determine whether the 6-month Foundations Program or 12-month Complex Case Program best fits your needs. We can also determine this at your initial comprehensive visit.
Can I use insurance for packages?
Dr. Schimmer does not participate in private insurance or Medicare. The program fees are not reimbursable and superbills cannot be provided. Patients cannot submit claims to any insurance or government plan (including Medicare, Medicaid, Tri-Care, Veterans Affairs, or Federal Employee programs).
All services provided through the “Get to the Root” Programs are self-pay only, and patients are fully responsible for payment at the time of enrollment.
Are labs covered by insurance?
Some lab tests may be eligible for partial insurance coverage depending on your plan, but Dr. Schimmer cannot guarantee what will be covered. You’re encouraged to contact your insurance provider before testing to understand your out-of-pocket costs.
Are virtual visits available?
Yes. Both programs are available to California residents via secure telemedicine.
What labs are included?
Two specialty labs are included and are selected collaboratively based on your presentation. Examples include gut microbiome analysis, hormone saliva/urine panels, chronic infections/lyme, mycotoxin/environmental panels.
Can I upgrade later?
Yes. Foundations clients may upgrade to the Complex Case Program if more advanced care becomes necessary.
